Client:

The client is an Australian non-profit organization in the healthcare domain helping babies, children, teenagers, and adults living with cerebral palsy and other neurological & physical disabilities.

Key Challenges:

The client organization wanted to move towards Power BI technology for enabling data visualizations. The requirement was to analyze the complex SharePoint logs and create the visualizations for governing the files accessed and folders created by their employees. 

 

Furthermore, the organization wanted to assign training sessions if anyone needed help creating the new folders in the right format and sharing these reports with the managers. However, these training sessions seemed to be an effort and time-taking process.

Solution Delivered:

TechWize investigated the client’s business, technical, and operational challenges to create detailed technical requirements for developing a custom dashboard.

We connected to Azure logs using KQL and connected to Power BI for modeling these logs and created visualizations, and published these reports to Power BI Service for easy access to the client organization. This report was scheduled to refresh daily without any manual intervention. 

We further leveraged Power BI Desktop for report creation and Azure data explorer for writing KQL and exporting to Power Query M Language. Our teams enabled Power BI Service for live report access through web URLs by the organization’s diverse user base. 

Our technology teams completed the changes and transformations business users of the client organization suggested for deeper understanding and applied them to the created dashboard.

Delivered Results:

We created and made the dashboard live after successfully fulfilling multiple reviews and many suggestions given by the business users to meet all the requirements of the client organization.

The dashboard improved collaboration between the client organization’s employees and stakeholders, and now the need for added training sessions is eliminated.
