Our solution of Implementing ETL in Marketing Cloud allowed the development of Journeys to become faster and made the task easier, overall decreasing the cost of our client’s resources by 28%.
In this project our client wanted us to implement Marketing Journeys on the data that was stored in a Salesforce custom object in a normalized structure, where the data of a customer was divided into multiple objects. We were also required to extract the data and provide it in a data extension so that it could be used in marketing journeys and the journey criteria could be evaluated accordingly.
For this requirement, we used Marketing Cloud Automation Studio where we extracted the data from Salesforce using Synchronized Data Extensions and we used these Synchronized Data Extensions in the Automation where the automation would run every 24 hours and we transformed the data into the required structure using various steps of SQL queries, events and Filters. After that, the data was used in marketing journeys, in this project the complete data ETL was performed in Marketing cloud itself only.
