Earlier our client was forced to invest utmost critical business hours in maintaining and running marketing journeys, for a customer base to maintain which user was in which stage by using Google Spreadsheets. Our solution reduced the time elapsed in marketing journeys by 80%.
The requirement from the client was that he wants to connect Salesforce marketing cloud with salesforce sales cloud, in such a way that whenever a record is created in Salesforce then that the record must go through a particular journey based on certain conditions in real time. They also needed to track the interaction data back to salesforce sales cloud (Clicked, Opened, etc.).
In this project the first step we took, was to connect Salesforce marketing cloud with salesforce sales cloud, so for that, we have used the “Marketing Cloud Connector” which was installed in the sales cloud. Marketing Cloud Connector requires a lot of steps to install it, which helps us to connect the sales cloud with marketing cloud. Enabling them to have a conversation with each other. Now for the real-time data processing, we created the “salesforce data events” in marketing cloud which helped us to bring in the data from sales cloud to marketing cloud based on conditions in real time and then the data is fed to the Journey builder and emails are sent over to the client. The Marketing journeys used various Condition based split, engagement split and time-based emails to customers.
