Requirement:

The customer faced the challenge of migrating more than 70 databases from their old server to Azure. The main objectives were to migrate the databases to the latest SQL Server 2019, transfer the old database to a new server as the initial snapshot, restore all 70+ databases to the new SQL Server, ensure the integrity of the databases by running DBCC checks for errors, migrate user logins and rules to the new server, move SQL jobs to the new server, monitor performance for any potential issues, and finally, perform a final migration of 76+ databases to the new server.

Solution Delivered:

The team successfully executed the migration process by following a meticulous approach. All 70+ databases were migrated to the new SQL Server without encountering any issues. The databases were carefully transferred, ensuring data integrity throughout the process. User logins, rules, and SQL jobs were also successfully migrated to the new server. Rigorous testing, including DBCC checks, was performed to identify and rectify any errors. After confirming the stability and correctness of the migrated databases, a final dump was taken, and the remaining 76+ databases were moved to the new server.

The SQL Server databases were flawlessly migrated to Azure, and the customer now operates on the latest version of SQL Server 2019. This migration streamlined their database infrastructure, enhanced system performance, and improved overall data management.
